Mellifluous Monday #2: Linkin Park

Mellifluous Monday

Let’s face it, the world is a better place when there’s good music hitting the ear. And it just so happens that the word ‘mellifluous’ is one of my favourites in the entire dictionary. There’s a bit of a back story here but I won’t bore you with the details.

It’s a sad version this week with the recent news surrounding Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington. His voice was a massive savour for much of the teen angst during my high school days. His contribution to music will be missed and many of his lyrics will be etched into our minds forever.

Put this on, play it loud and relive the Southside Festival as Chester and the rest of his Linkin Park bandmates blew the crowd away. Particular highlights can be found at the 18-minute mark, the 35th minute, there’s some Fort Minor for good measure 45 minutes in and another highlight right at the end at a little over an hour and half.

It would prove to be one of their final shows and the crowd in attendance were definitely on the receiving end of a memorable night. RIP Chester, thanks for the words during tough times.
